The UI Art Museum officially opened to the public in June 2022. It is positioned as a comprehensive international art institution centered on the theme of “Life.” It is dedicated to fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue between contemporary art and cutting-edge science, exploring global issues such as life, nature, and ecology, with the aim of becoming a cultural landmark that inspires reflection.
The art museum is situated on the shores of Yangcheng Lake and was designed by the internationally renowned New York-based Steven Holl Architects. Its heavyweight inaugural exhibition, titled “All Times Exist,” showcased over a hundred artworks from more than a dozen countries worldwide, establishing a high standard for its academic and exhibition quality. Subsequently, it has continued to curate a series of solo and group exhibitions by significant domestic and international artists, all centered around the theme of life.
